Curriculum
Southend Schools provide quality international British education to boys and girls within their local communities. We inspire academic excellence for children aged 2-18, at an iconic, purpose-built campus. From our Nursery class(es) up to IGCSE and A Level, in our Sixth Form, our pupils are nurtured to reach the world’s best universities. Southend prepares students with the character, skills and personal attributes that enable them to be successful in their chosen occupations. Southend Schools are inclusive and welcome students from diverse backgrounds. We thrive to have outstanding teachers in world class facilities.
Our schools primarily follow the British national curriculum built around the Cambridge international ‘Pathway’ and British Early years foundation stage. The curriculum is carefully blended with topics, experiences, and activities to prepare students to understand global perspectives and lead with compassion later in their lives. We strive to inspire change through courageous actions, selfless leadership, and careful listening. This provides an education experience like none other.

Preparatory School
Our Preparatory School is for children aged 2-11, starting with an Early Years curriculum, up to Year 6, where boys and girls enjoy specialist teaching and develop a greater sense of independence. We develop schools in incremental stages, starting with Early Years (Nursery and Reception) and Years 1 and 2.
Senior School
Our Senior School is for children aged 11 - 18, where pupils work towards IGCSE qualifications before taking on the challenge of Cambridge AS and A Levels, as part of our Sixth Form. For those wishing to transfer to top UK Public Schools, we facilitate preparation for scholarships & admissions to the very best schools in the country.
Blended Learning
Complementing traditional face to face teaching, there will be a blend of high-quality remote education, facilitated through the school’s DfE recommended digital platform, Office 365.
We offer a number of remote learning approaches, depending on the concepts, knowledge or skills we want pupils to learn. This may include live online lessons, recorded lessons, workbooks or interactive online programmes.
We use a range of software resources to enable us to deliver a potent education. For example, Microsoft Sway is a powerful and easy-to-learn tool that enables teachers to quickly and easily create a mix of text, images and videos to deliver online lessons. When online lessons are live, they incorporate the elements of highly effective teaching , such as clear modelling, explanations, scaffolding and feedback.
Curriculum Enrichment
Our Co-Curricular programmes follow a holistic approach to learning and ensure that our students not only leave our schools prepared for higher education as well-rounded individuals ready to play their part in society but are well equipped to understand local and global perspectives, to be active listeners, to exercise social responsibility, to inspire change through courageous actions and to lead selflessly and with compassion in whatever field they choose for their lives.
The Curriculum is carefully blended with a strong a co-curricular programme, built around pastoral care with rich, varied experiences and activities.

Languages
At Southend Education, we believe that acquiring knowledge of international languages helps students to evolve as global citizens. Knowing international languages increases employability and helps to better understand perspective, besides inducing empathy and cultural awareness. Southend Schools offer international/regional languages and other specialised subjects to our students at all stages.

Co-Curricular
Our integrated co-curricular programmes follow a holistic approach to learning and ensure that our students not only leave our schools prepared for higher education, but also as well-rounded individuals ready to play their part in society. We seek excellence and modernity, which is clearly reflected in the services and products we offer. Our facilities include variety of sports, actively embedded physical education courses, value-adding programmes such as service learning and leadership, and specialised summer and cricket camps.

Service Learning
Southend education understands that Leadership includes important life skills such as decision making, communication, collaboration, strategic thinking, and risk taking. Students need the knowledge and capabilities that go far beyond the school environment, and into the “real world”. Personalising things is important for student learning. We provide opportunities for students to develop key skills for their future such as leadership skills, dealing with ambiguity, operating under pressure etc. Our integrated curriculum with service learning and leadership modules goes a long way in the development empathy and care in our students.
E-Learning
We use technology to make learning more relevant and to better prepare our students to live in a high technologically infused society. Therefore, we have dedicated E-Learning platforms which can be used to enhance the whole curriculum. We recognise the enormous potential of modern technology to enhance and enrich learning and are committed to preparing our children to be successful in a society permeated with technology. Students use technology to inquire, communicate and safely take risks. When they move on from our schools, they are confident users of current technology in a range of contexts, understanding the benefits, limitations and risks associated with its use. The use of technology to support learning is embedded across all curriculum areas, it is always the learning that comes first; the technology simply provides powerful tools which enable high quality learning to take place.
Design & Technology
This facility includes a design suite where students learn to design by hand, a virtual workshop where they can manufacture products from a range of materials. Our design technology workshops have facilities for designing and making a wide range of projects, including graphic design, practical electronics, and control technology.
